Also, I just finished reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. Also an incredibly well-written book with some of the most beautiful prose I've read in a long time. Also, the mother of the lead character is an opera singer, so that's cool :)Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05746220598633786572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17139505.post-43085839489630985132009-03-07T16:04:00.000-05:002009-03-07T16:04:00.000-05:00Seconding "His Dark Materials." And I think everybody on the planet has read it, but "To Kill a Mockingbird" is always worth a reread. And probably my favorite book that I've read in the last year is "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. The movie is a decent adaptation, but the book is better, as it usually is with these sorts of things. Hope you find something you enjoy!Rachel Buddehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04161772943465847148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17139505.post-20639601565006610902009-03-06T14:52:00.000-05:002009-03-06T14:52:00.000-05:00You should really check out Margaret Atwood's Pene...You should really check out Margaret Atwood's Penelopiad if you haven't already.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16258095001569531134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17139505.post-8937695394364702252009-03-06T00:27:00.000-05:002009-03-06T00:27:00.000-05:00Hmmm... It's in the fantasy genre however, so make sure you're at least a Harry Potter fan before delving into it! (Book 1 of the series was made into the huge flop of a movie The Golden Compass, so don't judge a book by its awful adaptation). I hope you like it if you get around to reading it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
